Chief Supply Chain Officer & Senior Vice President Wholesale

Nick Nanos led a rapid scale-up of end-to-end capabilities including logistics, distribution, forecasting, and commercial services to meet expedited Government timelines related to retails sales of alcohol in grocery and convenience stores as well as addressing additional SKUs, regulatory and distribution complexities from the introduction of Ready-to-Drink products.

Barbara led cross-functional efforts that elevated supply chain from an operational function to a trusted business partner, through greater integrated collaborative forecasting (CPFR) with our key retail accounts  developing and sharing  clear, data-backed cost-to-serve models, implementing monthly customer supply chain reviews and agile decision making.

Dimitri Fleitman

Head of Supply Chain

Dimitri successfully executed a rerouting strategy through alternative ports, activated inland over the road and drayage contingencies, and leaned on proactive strategic supply buffering to stabilize customer inventories through a period of uncertainty caused by port strikes and lockouts. Securing critical volumes, he safeguarded availability and avoided major retail out of stocks during a national disruption.

John Castelhano

Senior Vice President, Strategic Sourcing North America & UK

John Castelhano led the seamless integration of strategic procurement across newly acquired businesses and clients, and championed the deployment of AI-enabled sourcing strategies to unify systems and expand support, driving innovation and efficiency.

Nuria Defoe

Vice President of Procurement

Nuria restructured, led and developed the 'tactical purchasing' team to become a 'strategic global procurement' value-add pivotal contributor in the organization.

Rosalia La Corte

Director, Strategic Sourcing

Rosalie set out to modernize 14 legacy procurement processes that had become bottlenecks.  As a result  average procurement timelines were reduced by 39% enabling faster delivery of essential services to the community and she positioned strategic sourcing as a strategic driver of agility, trust and impact - fueling success and delivering timely impact.

Sam Pringle

Director, Supply Chain Management

Halton Region initiated a large-scale SAP technical migration impacting one-third of the Supply Chain staff and Sam had to ensure business continuity while managing an increase in procurement value from $1.3B to $1.5B.The migration was completed with zero disruption to core services while effectively managing a $200M increase in procurement volume.

Sanja Cancar-Todorovic

Principal, Global Commercial Cloud and AI Datacenter Integration

Sanja guided Microsoft’s global datacenter integration through  unprecedented volatility in critical infrastructure materials and logistics. As a result, Sanja's team safeguarded construction timelines for commercial builds and leases across multiple continents, and also increased resiliency in the supply chain operating model.

Taras Korec

Vice President Operations

Taras noticed that the use of bottles was both expensive and misaligned with Hexo’s emerging ESG commitments and recognized an opportunity to reduce costs, strengthen sustainability credentials, and improve operational efficiency by transitioning packaging to flexible pouches. Within 12 months $6M in annual savings was realized, as well as reduced environmental footprint, and improved supply chain agility.

Tharshini was tasked with leading the transformation of the Procurement team. She tackled root issues, fostered a culture of support, introduced frameworks, modernized policies and developed dashboards - leading to recognition as a collaborative partner in the organization and creating a leadership pipeline.

Director, Procurement and Enterprise Risk

Victoria led her team through a comprehensive Contract Management Transformation at the City of Edmonton and took advantage of the opportunity to develop the leadership skills of those on her team as a result.

NIS­CL EMERG­ING LEADER OF THE YEAR

Winner: Brunilda Gjini

Senior Manager S&OP

Brunilda identified a critical vulnerability with an enviroment of mistrust between the Finance, Supply Chain, and S&OP teams, while faced with significant data discrepancies and inaccuracies.  By dedicating her time to rebuilding the human connections and fostering a unified purpose, she led the team to address and correct data issues, leading to resolution and the creation of a resilient and supportive team.

Amanda Abbott

Category Manager, Construction

Amanda collaborated with senior stakeholders to support a procurement transformation initiative, while also leading learning and development for a team of 10 people.  Amanda successfully led vendor negotiations that reduced proposed price increases substantially contributing to  a reported $0 impact to existing costs.

Rajan Tyagi

Sourcing Specialist

Following a corporate acquisition, Rajan led the transformation of a disjointed team into a centralized, compliant procurement program that would deliver stronger price protection and reliable forecasting.  He successfully delivered a governed catalog with pricing discipline, forecastable demand, and audit-ready records—mitigating tariff risk and elevating procurement maturity across the new BGIS team.

Theora Phan

Packaging Supervisor

Theora supported one of the DHL sites during the implementation of a packaging execution system, leading the training of over 10 line leads and supervisors across shifts in just two weeks.

Victoria D’Astice

Senior Supply Chain Analyst The Regional Municipality of Halton

In response to US Tariffs, Victoria led a cross-functional project to amend the Procurement Bylaw, aligning procurement thresholds with the Canadian Free Trade Agreement (CFTA). This strategic change empowered staff to invite Canadian suppliers for higher-value procurements, reducing tariff exposure and supporting the domestic economy.

The Materials Management Team at UHN recognized the critical link between supply chain readiness and patient outcomes in the planning and opening of the new  UHN Reactivation Care Center

The City of Vaughan

Procurement Services led a multi-tiered engagement effort to successfully build trust and position procurement as a strategic enabler.

The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids)

The Hospital for Sick Children  Supply Chain team developed 16+ interconnected applications and 54 automations to eliminate manual bottlenecks, ensure accuracy and maintain stakeholder trust

Hamilton Health Sciences

The Procurement Team established a Product Evaluation, Standardization, and Value Analysis Committee (PES-VAC) to promote product standardization in the Hospital to lower overall total costs and achieve greater value.
