Meet the Judges

Chris Bianco

Chief Supply Chain Officer

Chris has over 25 years of experience in the energy sector and started his career in the propane industry holding various senior management positions responsible for fleet, logistics, and field operations.  In 2012, Chris joined BC Hydro and held roles of increasing responsibility leading the Materials Management and Fleet Services teams. In 2025, Chris transitioned to the Chief Supply Chain Officer leading BC Hydro’s Supply Chain function which includes Category Management, Procurement, Central Services, Fleet Services and Materials Management.  Chris is a Certified Supply Chain Professional, Certified in Production and Inventory Management and holds an MBA in Supply Chain Management from the University of Athabasca. Chris enjoys spending time in the outdoors in his spare time that includes camping, fishing, and water skiing.

Nick Nanos

Chief Supply Chain Officer

Nick Nanos is the LCBO’s Chief Supply Chain Officer and SVP Wholesale, leading a 1,500‑person team responsible for moving over 110 million cases of beverage alcohol annually from 80+ countries to 8,500 retail outlets across Ontario. Over three decades, he has held progressive roles across retail, distribution, finance, wholesale, internal audit, and supply chain, driving major modernization initiatives including marketplace transformation, wholesale operations, and network optimization. Nick holds designations including CCLP, NISCL-CSCL & MCIPS and CFE, along with executive credentials from Queen’s University and Schulich School of Business. A two‑time Drinks Ontario award recipient, he was recognized as Senior Supply Chain Leader of 2025 by NISCL. He also advises government and serves on multiple industry and community boards.

Nom­i­na­tion Guide­lines & FAQs

Eligibility Criteria
  • Cana­di­an sup­ply chain pro­fes­sion­als from any indus­try, sec­tor, or orga­ni­za­tion are eli­gi­ble to participate.
  • Appli­cants need not be cur­rent NIS­CL members
  • Project scope from an Enter­prise, Busi­ness Unit, Depart­men­tal, Pro­gram, or Project lev­el are eli­gi­ble. The project results/​impact must be rel­e­vant to Cana­di­ans, the Cana­di­an econ­o­my and local consumers/​stakeholders 
  • Mul­ti­ple indi­vid­u­als from a sin­gle orga­ni­za­tion are eli­gi­ble to par­tic­i­pate in the indi­vid­ual awards.
  • Con­sult­ing, Train­ing, or oth­er third-par­ty providers can­not sub­mit nom­i­na­tions on behalf of an orga­ni­za­tion’s Sup­ply Chain team or Individual.
  • All award sub­mis­sions will be assessed by a pan­el of judges assigned to select the win­ner accord­ing to the estab­lished criteria.
  • The out­come of review and judg­ing will be deter­mined by the final score, which indi­cates the short­list­ed nom­i­nees and ulti­mate­ly the award win­ning submission.
  • In cas­es where there is a tie, or mul­ti­ple appli­ca­tions with the same score, the tiebreak­er will involve inter­views to fur­ther clar­i­fy details and refine the scor­ing. Should the tie per­sist, NIS­CL reserves the right to award more than one winner.

  • How will the sub­mis­sions be judged? Sub­mis­sions are blind-reviewed using a weight­ed score­card. Win­ners are deter­mined by aggre­gate scores. In case of a tie, inter­views may be con­duct­ed to refine scor­ing. Final win­ners will be announced at the Novem­ber 19 Gala and pub­lished after­ward.
     
  • What is the Award Nom­i­na­tion Process?
    Step 1 – Com­plete the appli­ca­tion form for Indi­vid­ual nom­i­na­tion or Team: You may nom­i­nate your­self, a col­league or a team. Please note that you can share the form with oth­ers to com­plete and you may save your progress and come­back lat­er.
    Step 2 – Pay­ment of the appli­ca­tion fee: Pay online at the end of the appli­ca­tion form. Please note we accept cred­it card pay­ment only.

General Rules
  • All appli­cants list­ed on any sub­mis­sion agree to the NIS­CL Code of Ethics with the sub­mis­sion of their application.

  • NIS­CL holds the right to dis­qual­i­fy any par­tic­i­pant or appli­cant at any time up to the award pre­sen­ta­tion if they are deemed ineligible.

  • NIS­CL also reserves the right to accept or reject appli­ca­tions, make or can­cel awards, or change dead­lines as nec­es­sary to uphold the qual­i­ty of the NIS­CL Awards and ben­e­fit the sup­ply chain community.

  • If any sub­mit­ted infor­ma­tion is found to be false or mis­lead­ing, NIS­CL reserves the right to rescind an award.

  • Par­tic­i­pants, final­ists, and win­ners will receive pub­lic­i­ty through NIS­CL com­mu­ni­ca­tion chan­nels and exter­nal media. Par­tic­i­pants may also col­lab­o­rate with NIS­CL for addi­tion­al pub­lic­i­ty and fol­low-up events.

  • Orga­ni­za­tions or indi­vid­u­als affil­i­at­ed with the Judges are exclud­ed from eli­gi­bil­i­ty. Judges will declare con­flicts and nom­i­nees will be elim­i­nat­ed from consideration.

  • Nom­i­na­tion fees are non-refundable.
